Poland's smaller cities and towns are not places people generally move to, but rather ones they move away from. Young people, especially, will often move to bigger Polish cities like Warsaw, or abroad, either to look for work and a better life, or because they find the small town environment too conservative and culturally stifling.

This project is more than just a documentary overview of life in "Poland B", the poorer, less sophisticated side of Poland. It is an attempt at a poetic visual representation of memories of life in these areas, the imagined memories of someone who grew up there and left. As such, the images, in their subject matter, try to mimic the sentimental, somewhat melancholic (though not necessarily positive) quality that certain memories possess. This is further enhanced by the use of a vintage Canon AE-1 analog camera.
